Creation of the Northern District Park
The park will theoretically be divided into three areas. A basketball court, an outdoor gym, bicycle stands, and two small, decorative pools will be installed. A multi-purpose track with a special covering will be installed around the park for cycling, jogging, and rollerblading. For children, the park will offer a playground with rubber surfacing for playing chess, checkers, and hopscotch, as well as a labyrinth made of evergreen plants.
The memorial area will be improved, the old concrete paving slabs will be replaced by cobblestones, and flowerbeds will be installed all around the park.
Many new park benches will be placed in the square next to the main entrance of Secondary School No. 5, and the number of car parking spots will be increased. The entire park territory will be illuminated and monitored by CCTV.
58 deciduous trees, 1418 deciduous shrubs, 1732 cereals, 8 conifers, and 1827 perennials are to be planted in the park.Read more
Construction of a SPA Hotel
The development of SPA and hotel services in the city is one of the essential preconditions for the development of the entire tourism sector of the city and the region. Currently, the hotels in the city cannot not meet the demand for tourism and lodging services.
According to tourism experts, a territory in the southwestern part of Rēzekne would be one of the most suitable places to build a hotel in the city. The plots border the Kovšu Lake area, an apartment block neighbourhood to the west, as well as Brīvības iela and detached houses to the north.
The total area of plots designated for the construction of hotel facilities is approximately 1 ha.
The buildings and infrastructure necessary for the operation of the hotel are to be constructed and then leased to an economic operator for the development of a hotel business.Read more
